The Mercury guide
Find traders worth following. Understand the wallet, examine the evidence, and build your research workflow.
Getting started
Mercury brings Robinhood Chain wallet research and Hyperliquid perpetual markets into one workspace. The five main tabs are Discover, Trench, Runners, Perps, and Portfolio.
- Enter Mercury. Open the landing page and choose Enter Mercury.
- Create your account. Continue with Google or sign in by signing a message with an Ethereum-compatible wallet.
- Find a wallet. Use Discover to search by name or public address, select a period, and inspect the underlying source.
- Build your watchlist. Save wallets you want to revisit. Connect a GMGN API key in Trench to load its Robinhood market feed.
Google sign-in and wallet sign-in use separate account identities. Use the same sign-in method when returning to your saved workspace.
Discover
Discover combines a directory of publicly attributed wallets with source-backed rankings. Search by wallet name or address, choose the available wallet filters, and compare 1D, 7D, or 30D periods. The top three ranked wallets receive larger profile placements.
Reading a wallet row
| Field | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| P&L | The source’s reported profit or loss for the selected window. Check whether the source includes open positions. |
| Win rate | The source’s winning-position percentage where that statistic is supplied. |
| Volume | Reported traded value. Volume measures activity, not account return. |
| Buys / sells | Reported activity counts. A transaction count is different from a closed-position count. |
| Research score | A 0–100 summary of available profitability, win-rate, and history evidence. |
Check the source and retrieval time before comparing wallets. Some directory entries carry saved source observations; a name in the directory does not establish recent activity. A dash means the provider did not supply a usable value.
Names and profile pictures
Names and social links reflect public attribution. They do not prove who controls an address. Mercury uses a deterministic liquid avatar when a sourced image cannot load. Confirm the full address before acting on a familiar name.
Wallet inspection
Open a wallet to view its public address, explorer link, score, native ETH balance, and available activity. Balance reads cover the native asset; token holdings and complete trade history need separate source coverage. Recent activity is a bounded sample, so an empty sample does not establish that a wallet has never traded.
Research scores
The Copy research score summarizes the evidence returned for a wallet and period. Compare it alongside trade history and liquidity rather than using the number as a return forecast.
| Component | Points | Calculation |
|---|---|---|
| Profitability | 40 | Realized profit divided by traded volume, scaled to its maximum at 20%. This ratio is not account ROI. |
| Wins | 30 | Win rate multiplied by closed positions ÷ (closed positions + 20), then scaled to 30 points. |
| History | 30 | Closed-position depth, reaching its maximum at 50 closed positions. |
Evidence caps
- Fewer than 10 closed positions: maximum 50.
- Partial period coverage: maximum 60.
- Zero or negative realized profit: maximum 30.
- Current open losses larger than reported realized gains: maximum 30.
The lowest applicable cap wins. Missing usable profit or volume produces 0 with a “No evidence” label; this describes coverage, not trader quality. Missing closed-position counts contribute no history or win-rate points.
The weights are chosen research rules and have not been backtested. Fees, liquidity, drawdown, execution delay, and follower fills are outside this score. Open-loss checks use the available current open P&L, which can cover a different window. Component rounding can differ slightly from the rounded total.
Trench & GMGN
Trench organizes GMGN’s Robinhood Chain feed into three source-defined stages:
- New: recently created pairs.
- Almost bonded: pairs approaching their launchpad’s graduation threshold.
- Migrated: pairs reported as graduated to the open market.
Connect your API key
- Open Trench and select Connect your GMGN API key.
- Use Get a key on GMGN to access GMGN’s account and API setup.
- Paste your API key into Mercury’s password field, then select Connect and load Trench.
- Review the feed. Use Disconnect to clear the connection.
Mercury sends the key through its authenticated server route to GMGN for market data. The key remains in the current Trench view and request memory; it is not saved in browser storage or Mercury’s database. Leaving Trench, reloading, or disconnecting requires you to enter it again.
A successful connection refreshes every 30 seconds. Refreshing pauses after a provider error. On smaller screens, use the category selector to switch columns. Empty categories reflect the returned source response.
Token details
Cards can include price, market capitalization, liquidity, hourly volume, launchpad, bonding progress, holder concentration, and developer concentration. Source-reported risk flags help focus further research. A missing field stays blank rather than being treated as zero. Open Research on GMGN to inspect the token at its source.
Key permissions, network access, and rate limits are controlled by GMGN. Mercury does not purchase or upgrade your GMGN plan.
Runners
Find active Robinhood Chain memecoins discovered through RHTrenches, with market data from Dexscreener. Tokenized stocks and pools flagged as honeypots, drained, or parked are excluded. Rank by hourly volume, 24-hour price change, or liquidity, then select a coin to inspect its market. Discovery and pool data refresh every 15 seconds while the page is visible and immediately when you return to the tab. Each token uses its most liquid returned pool. The countdown shows the next refresh; failed requests retain the previous data with a status message.
Connect your GMGN API key to load wallets with positive realized profit on the selected token, drawn from GMGN’s top 100 results. Realized and open profit are shown separately. These results cover that token and the provider’s available history; they do not establish consistent performance across other coins.
Select Review & copy to open the exact wallet on GMGN. Review its history and configure supported copying options there. The key is used only in request memory and clears when you leave Runners or disconnect.
Copy trading
Use Mercury to research a trader and retain their exact public wallet address. Use that address in GMGN to review the trader and configure any copying options supported by your GMGN account and network.
- Inspect the trader across multiple periods. Look for repeated results across positions, not one unusually profitable trade.
- Compare source history, realized gains, open losses, and liquidity.
- Open the source profile and verify that its full address matches Mercury.
- In GMGN, review network support, the funding wallet, trade size, slippage, and available limits before confirming any execution settings.
- Use GMGN’s order records to check whether an order was accepted and filled.
Research access and trading authorization
The Trench API connection authorizes market-data requests. Mercury does not request a signing key through that form. Saving a wallet or configuration in Mercury does not authorize an order.
Automatic execution inside Mercury requires a separate signing connection, a running trade-monitoring service, and order reconciliation. Those components remain to be connected. Until that setup is complete, execution is handled in GMGN rather than by Mercury.
Follower results can differ from the source wallet because of entry time, liquidity, price impact, slippage, fees, and sell timing. A wallet score cannot guarantee that its trades can be copied profitably.
Perps
Perps uses Hyperliquid public market and account data. Explore markets, compare leaderboard accounts, save traders to your watchlist, and inspect an account using its public address.
Leaderboard names are self-reported. Account values, P&L, ROI, and volume describe the source account; they are not returns earned by your Mercury account. Public account lookup is separate from wallet ownership verification.
Robinhood Chain memecoin research and Hyperliquid perpetual account research are separate data sets. The same 0x address format does not make their balances or performance interchangeable.
Your workspace
Portfolio groups Overview, Positions, and Activity. Watchlist, Alerts, and Settings are available from the header.
- Watchlist: saved wallets associated with your Mercury account.
- Configurations: retained copy settings for review. Saving or changing a configuration records a workspace change; it does not submit an order.
- Activity: the latest account records, including saved wallets and configuration changes.
- Alerts: saved alert rules. Delivering notifications requires the indexing and notification connection.
- Settings: account identity and sign-out controls.
Use the wallet inspector for available public balances and positions. Portfolio totals require complete holdings and cost-basis coverage; they should not be inferred from a native ETH balance.
P&L reports
- Select Generate P&L in the trading header.
- Enter a public Hyperliquid account address.
- Select 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or all available history.
- Generate the report, review its source window, and download the SVG card.
The report calculates the difference between the first and last valid P&L samples returned for the chosen period. It includes the sampled graph, latest sampled account value, period volume, address, and timestamps.
A report needs at least two usable samples. Use the account’s main address if an agent address returns insufficient history. This report covers Hyperliquid sampled performance; it is not a realized-only statement or tax document. Robinhood token cost basis is a separate data requirement.
Account & security
Mercury requests basic profile and email information to identify your account. Google sign-in does not request access to Gmail messages.
Wallet sign-in
Your wallet signs a challenge message to verify the public address. The sign-in action does not submit a blockchain transaction or require gas. Mercury’s sign-in verifier supports standard Ethereum accounts.
Sessions and keys
Sessions use an HTTP-only cookie and expire after seven days. Signing out invalidates the current session; saved workspace records remain associated with your account. Sign-in challenges expire after five minutes.
Never enter a recovery phrase or wallet private key in the GMGN API-key field. You can revoke a GMGN API key through GMGN. Read the privacy policy for storage, service providers, and deletion requests.
Troubleshooting
GMGN rejects my key
Check that you pasted the API key, not a signing key, and that your GMGN account permits the requested market endpoint and Robinhood network. Disconnect and reconnect with the corrected key.
The feed stops refreshing
Mercury pauses automatic requests after errors. If GMGN gives a retry time, wait until it passes before selecting Refresh. For a sign-in prompt, return to the landing page and sign in again.
A wallet has a zero score or missing statistics
Open its evidence label and source. Missing profit, volume, or closed-position coverage affects scoring. Try another supported period and compare like-for-like source windows.
My saved wallets are missing
Confirm that you used the same Google account or wallet address as before. Google and wallet identities are separate. Refresh your workspace after signing in.
My P&L card differs from a trading dashboard
Compare the account, network, sample start and end times, and treatment of open positions. Mercury uses the returned Hyperliquid sample window, which can differ from a calendar period or realized-only calculation.
